Principal Sayer brings over 15 years of experience in public education, with a proven record of instructional leadership, student support, and schoolwide improvement.
Sayer has served as an assistant principal at R.B. Stall High School since 2015, where she has led a range of high-impact initiatives to improve student achievement and school climate. Under her leadership, Stall earned recognition as a National Capturing Kids’ Hearts Showcase School four years in a row for its positive culture and strong relationships between students and staff. She also led the implementation of a schoolwide master schedule that improved teacher collaboration and data-driven instruction through regular professional learning communities.
Known for her strategic approach and commitment to growth, Sayer has overseen staff evaluations, professional development, school accreditation efforts, and college and career readiness programs. She played a key role in expanding access to Advanced Placement courses, supporting freshmen through a Ninth Grade Academy model, and increasing student success through after-school, summer bridge, and credit recovery programs.
“Virginia Sayer brings deep instructional knowledge, a passion for student success, and a strong commitment to teacher development,” said Superintendent Anita Huggins. “Her experience leading school transformation work and her focus on building strong systems will serve Camp Road Middle School well.”
Sayer began her career as a science teacher and coach and later served as a personalized learning instructional coach for CCSD. She holds two master’s degrees—one in Educational Leadership from Southern Wesleyan University and another in Secondary Science Education from James Madison University.
